Julie is an experienced and highly qualified massage therapist. She is committed to continuing her professional development to offer the best combination of therapies to treat each client as an individual: young or elderly, elite athlete or casual sports person.
Julie began her career in the pharmaceutical industry working in the NHS in both retail chemists and hospitals. After a career break Julie qualified as a Sports and Remedial Massage Practitioner in 2004 gaining a BTEC Professional Diploma from the London School of Sports Massage.
In 2007 Julie became qualified in Electrotherapy and regularly uses Ultrasound Therapy to treat tendon and ligament injury. In 2012 she studied Kinesiotaping with Kinesio UK and she uses Kinesio Tex tape to complement her massage treatments to rehabilitate a variety of soft tissue conditions.
In 2010 Julie gained her level 1 qualification in Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) at the Vodder School of Austria in London. In practice she found MLD so effective at reducing swelling and pain in clients who had sustained injury that she decided to progress her qualification to level 2/3. Julie travelled to Austria in 2011 to the Vodder School in Walchsee and under the guiding hands of the famous Professor Hildegard Wittlinger qualified in Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy.
Julie still uses MLD as part of her massage and rehabilitation treatments but also treats a wide variety of men, women and children with primary or secondary lymphoedema.
Julie is fully insured and is a member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage and MLDuk.
