The technique of Neuro-Muscular Taping (or Kinesiology Taping) was developed in Korea in the 1970 and was then used in Japan before moving to the USA and Europe in the 1990s.
Hypo-allergenic adhesive tape, which is similar to human skin in terms of structure and elasticity, is applied to areas of the body where there is pain in the underlying tissue of the body. It can be used for many different problems from sprains, tennis elbow, back or neck pain to warming the uterus in fertility issues.
The tape is applied to the affected area where it increases blood flow and promotes healing. It is commonly used on athletes to both prevent and heal injuries and also by many therapists who have received specialist training in the application of the tape.
